Engineering Studies Course
REGISTRATION: January, May and September.
DURATION: N4-N6 one trimester per N course.


Admission Requirements:

N4 N3 Certificate or
At least 3 applicable Grade 12 subjects
N5 N4 Certificate
N6 N5 Certificate

National Diploma:
To obtain a National Diploma, students must pass 4 subjects on each of the N4, N5 and N6 levels, a total of 12 subjects. A diploma can also be obtained with 5 subjects in N4, 4 subjects in N5 and 3 subjects in N6. It is important, however, that 3 subjects continue through from N4 to N6. At least 2 subjects must be related to the students line of work. This means that students can take mechanical and electrical subjects as well as a subject such as supervision.

A diploma can only be obtained after the student has has 2 years practical experience.

Internal Combustion Engines can be taken in place of Power Machines.

PASS REQUIREMENT: The qualification requirement is a minimum of 50% in each subject.

EXAMINATIONS:
Examinations for the Certificate of Competency for Engineers take place every June and November
